Fareham eco-town scheme

Plans for a new 8,000-home town have been accepted into the government's eco-town scheme.
Fareham Borough Council was invited by the government at the last minute to put forward the North of Fareham strategic development area for the scheme. As a result, the council has been awarded £200,000 to help plan the new 'green' development site, with studies focusing on the provision of green space, waste, water and renewable energy.
