Residents in the Western Wards will soon experience the digital switch over. The Rowridge transmitter and its 27 relays, serving Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, parts of Dorset, Wiltshire and West Sussex, switches to digital TV on 07 March 2012 and 21 March 2012. If you have Sky TV, Freesat from Sky or freesat on all of your TV sets you will not be affected by switchover. You will be affected if haven't yet got digital TV in your home or you have a service like Freeview, BT Vision or Top Up TV.
What happens after switchover?
If you are watching the Rowridge transmitter group using Freeview, Top Up TV or BT Vision, you will need to re-tune your equipment on the dates below to ensure that you continue to receive all available Freeview channels.
7th March 2012
BBC Two will go to digital and some new digital channels become available. This means that:
If you haven’t switched, you’ll lose BBC Two
The time of day you switch will depend on which relay transmitter you are watching
If you have Freeview, BT Vision or Top Up TV you’ll need to re-tune your equipment
21st March 2012
All the remaining analogue channels will switch to digital and the remaining digital channels will become available. This means that:
If you haven’t switched to digital, you will lose your TV service
The time of day you switch will depend on which relay transmitter you are watching
If you have Freeview, BT Vision or Top Up TV you’ll need to re-tune your equipment again
This re-tune is necessary as part of the technical changes for the digital switchover.
Anyone with problems can contact the Digital UK helpline on 08456 50 50 50.
