On the 11th and 12th December 08 there was a second public consultation event held in the Village that reflected on the feedback from the exhibitions held on 18 and 19 March 2008. This new exhibition sets out current thinking that will form the basis of a planning application for the redevelopment of Whiteley Village.

The redevelopment will include the demolition of the majority of the existing retail centre and the provision of new retail units, cafés and restaurants, office space, a new ‘community hub’ attached to the existing Meadowside Centre and improved public spaces. A hotel will also be provided along with up to 80 new homes. There will be a new access from Whiteley Way and car parking will be reconfigured.
