A bin lorry tipped over as it tried to take a corner, crushing two parked cars. Gull Coppice in Whiteley was closed off to allow emergency services to deal with the accident which happened around 12.30pm on the 28th November 2011. Two Hampshire refuse workers were taken to hospital after being trapped.
Fire teams from Fareham, Hightown and Cosham were sent to help free the workers trapped inside. The parked cars the lorry toppled onto were empty, there are no reports of any other casualties. Police will be investigating.
