The speed limit in Rookery Avenue maybe reduced from 40mph to 30mph because it is now the main vehicular school drop-off and pick-up point. Double yellow lines are also being proposed for the south side to prevent parking on both sides of the road in the morning, blocking two-way traffic.
Yellow lines will also be painted on the north side at the junction with Yew Tree Drive to prevent parking too close to the western arm of the junction. The traffic regulation orders will be produced in partnership with Winchester City Council as the road straddles the district boundaries.
