The Whiteley Academy group of volunteers is currently working on a proposal for a new Free School for young people aged 4-16 years old. If successful in the application process, the Academy will:

offer a non-selective education for young people of all abilities;

provide an innovative, broad and balanced curriculum;
-
have the highest standards and expectations of its young people;
-
maximise achievement and attainment through excellent teaching;
-
open in September 2012;
-
be a school for the Whiteley community, within the Whiteley community.
Public Consultation ‘Drop-in’ Meetings Drop in workshops for parents, community members and local businesses to find out more about the plans and proposals. An informal opportunity to ask questions, raise concerns, share ideas and register your support.
Saturday 7th May 2011, 9.00 to 10.15 am at Whiteley Community Centre, Gull Coppice, Whiteley, Fareham, PO15 7LA.
Supporting the Campaign
We still need more signatures to ensure that our application has the best chance of getting through the next stage. In particular we need signatures from parents of pupils who are currently in Year 4 or 5, who would potentially be the first and second cohorts of Year 7 at the academy. It may help to make it clear that by signing up online, you are not committing yourself to definitely sending your child to the academy; what is required is that it would be one of your 3 options you would put when applying for secondary schools, for example.
